Statutory deadline
Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing here is an insurance quote. Licence requirements, bond amounts and filing deadlines are set by statute and by your state board, and they change. Verify with the board that issues your licence before you file anything or let a renewal date pass.
How the numbers on this site work
Every fee, bond amount, statute cite and deadline is read from the issuing regulator and recorded with the date we read it. A page that carries a red verification stamp was checked on the month printed inside that stamp. A figure we could not read from its regulator is left off the page rather than guessed at.
The calculators
The estimators here produce ranges, not quotes. A surety and a carrier price your specific record: credit, claims history, years in business, the work you actually do. Treat an estimate here as a sanity check on a quote you have been given, not a replacement for one.
Third parties
We name state boards, sureties and carriers where naming them is the useful thing to do. We are not affiliated with any of them, and a mention is not an endorsement. External links are to the organisation’s own page.
Liability
This site is provided as it is. We are not liable for a decision made on the strength of a page here, including a filing that was rejected, a licence that lapsed, or cover that turned out to be short. That is what the verification line at the bottom of every page is for.
